Quick sketchy!

*edit- i think i'm done now :)*

I was anxious to sketch/colour something last night.. Found some pics I took recently on my lappy and decided to do one... It's not entirely finished. I still have to lay out the lines on the legs outline proper but it's as far as I'm going to go for now..... It's the best shot I could take in my post-New Years celebration and the flash highlighted a lot of the whiteness more than it's visible in person..... sooo I tweaked it a lil on the pc to get the shadows close enough to how it really is. The first pic is the original shot.. the rest are the tweaks.

New shirt in progresss...

It has a quote from Sade saying

"Somebody already broke my heart.

If someone has to lose, then I don't want to play."

The (wrap) shirt itself has just been butchered by yours truly and filled with pins and charcoal because I had to take it in in some places and I was more anxious to paint than sew. The front on the left has a heart that has the words "Somebody already broke my..."

Then along the edge of the wrap going across it says

"If someone has to lose, I don't want to play"

I had this geisha girl vision in my head.. and as these things go... Once you start painting the idea actually starts to morph into something different than what you initially intended. Anyways I had intended to put "...Then I don't wanna play" along the side to the right of the woman. But then the along the seam idea came before and beat me to it.... hmmmmmm

This is my largest (finished) painting on canvas to date...

So... I finally realized it's time to started sketching portraits again... Start practicing and get back up to par..... SOOO I ambushed Jynx's pic off his Facebook... and here's what I came up with... I made a mistake on his nose... stupes... and I'm too lazy to fix it. But it's done in pencil.

Pointalism sucks... I will never do this again unless absolutely necessary. And I doubt I'd ever end up in a situation which necessitates it. Anyways, I cheated with the hair.... I didn't have that much patience to do every single dot in a tedious line........ and it's an old pic.

I made arguably a mistake on one of her cheeks. However, in the moment I was sketching it, this is how she looked to me... and her face was into the pillow, and I'm assuming gravity would flatten the cheek a bit. Such a willing model. My other defense is... the ink. It's not reversible as with pencil.
