I made arguably a mistake on one of her cheeks. However, in the moment I was sketching it, this is how she looked to me... and her face was into the pillow, and I'm assuming gravity would flatten the cheek a bit. Such a willing model. My other defense is... the ink. It's not reversible as with pencil.

Ray is one of my fave male models to use.
Most of the time he isn't aware that I'm
drawing him though. He has nice sketchable
features on a young, still boyish face.
So... he's perfect for practice.
I made him look a tad older..
hmm...

Soucouyant

This started off as a portrait attempt on black paper.

I just bought the black paper sketchbook... and this is my first (attempt) portrait on black paper... I got frustrated using the tedious pencil crayons so.... it doesn't look like the person, and I cheated and used a touch of soft pastels to level the colour...

I think it looks like a ligaroo... or soucouyant... hence the title.
